Boy Scouts
The Boy Scouts of America provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. The Dodd Boy Scout Troop #444 meets once a week after school to help build future leaders by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts also offer opportunities for additional activities, such as day camps, overnight camps, a competition called the Pinewood Derby, and trips to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs baseball games.

Girls on the Run
Dodd Elementary participates in the national program, Girls on the Run.  The program prepares girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living, by empowering girls to:
  • Develop a positive self-image and strong sense of identity;
  • Build supportive relationships and learn teamwork;
  • Resist peer pressure, set goals and strive for their personal best;
  • Improve their body image and increase their health and physical activity;
  • Have fun and celebrate being a girl.
The Girls on the Run program is held in the springtime at Dodd.  Girls are selected to participate through a project, presentation, and interview process.  The girls attend practices twice a week and work towards participating in the End-of-Season 5K Event.
